Karen Hsin, the voice of Dejiko, is now in Japan and will be participating in the "Di Gi Charat" concert with the Japanese cast! The latest word from Shizuki in Japan:

"Concert Day 2."

"This time Karen was in the VIP room watching the concert. This concert featured Dejiko, Rabi, and Puchiko... plus Gema. At the end of the concert, Karen got to meet w/ all the voice actors & got their autograph on the concert poster."

"We will be giving away some of these posters on our website. Depends on how many I can take back w/ me."

"Concert day. Met with the Black Gema-Gema Dan voice actors, the Fan-boy duo voice actors, and the Japanese Dejiko herself, Sanada Asami."

"It was the first time Karen has ever heard the PKO songs, and she wanted to get the CD."

"During the middle of the concert, Mr. Kidani went on stage to show a 'secret video' from the US. It was the first time the Di Gi Charat commercial was shown to the public. Then they called out Karen & she performed the 'Welcome' song."

"What amazed us was that the fans already had a "call book" prepared w/ the English version of "Welcome." So they already knew what to call out as Karen sang the song. They must have gotten the lyrics & Karen's info from our website. The power of the fans..."

"Day 2 of rehearsal. We did it at the Broccoli headquaters today."

"Then Karen headed off to Akihabara, where they have the 7 story tall Gamers store. At the top is the Gamers Cafe, where customers can buy drinks & snacks. It's a hang-out place."

"The store manager, Osaka-san, gave Karen a bunch of things as souvenirs before she left... like all 5 volumes of the Di Gi Charat tapes."

"Karen had her first rehearsal. Yoko, dancing instructor, gave Karen a lot of different pointers on hitting all the high notes."

"Yoko had Karen walk around the rehearsal room to loosen up her body. Yoko made Karen dangle her arms down and lean over, to open up her throat."

"Yoko and Yuuka (producer of the concert) danced around Karen as she practiced her singing."

"I had a meeting to go to, so I dropped off Karen at the Gamers Ikebukuro store. There's a staffer named Odaki (we call him Odakki) who took Karen around the Ikebukuro arcades. They played the tambourine version of Samba de Amigo. Odakki said, "I didn't know it was fun to play with a girl" *laugh*"

"Took Karen to Broccoli HQ to introduce her to the event staff. Sakurai-san, the producer of the Di Gi Charat concert, showed Karen the Di Gi Charat Yokohama arena concert DVD."

"For the concert, they're gonna have a live ISDN connection with another event hall in Taiwan. Broccoli recently made an announcement in Taiwan where they licensed the PC version of the Di Gi Charat games."

"At the Taiwan event hall, Taiwanese fans can see a portion of the concert live... and the Japanese fans at Velfarre will be able to see the Di Gi Charat fans in Taiwan."

The ISDN thingie will be on the 5th.. so Karen won't be part of it. Unless they show a video from the 4th."
