Working on the English language production of FLCL for the North American has been a rewarding experience, even before such widespread interest. FLCL is a wonderful title because it's so much fun on the surface, yet with a lot of depth that requires multiple viewings. We wanted fans to get the full FLCL (Full… Kuri?). That is why we included the director's commentary track and an extensive translation and pop-culture notes on the DVDs

Unfortunately, due to the recent increase of orders for the FLCL DVDs, we have been unable to keep up with the demand of major retailers and DVD distributors. In order to streamline the distribution process, we have decided to discontinue the informational booklets on future prints of FLCL DVD volumes 1 - 3.

Future prints of FLCL will include a 2-page insert with the cover image on the front, and the BGM information on the back. The first volume to have the 2-page insert will be volume 2 (pink cover with illustration of Mamimi).

This was a very difficult decision to make because we believe that including bonus features like the informational booklets was one of the reasons why Synch-Point has been embraced by anime fans. We know that fans get a lot of information from these booklets, and we wanted to give everyone the full FLCL experience that all of us at Synch-Point had working with Kazuya Tsurumaki (director) and Hiroki Sato (producer).

The notes and essays from these booklets will be available online as PDF files, which can be downloaded and printed. More information will be available on our website. (http://www.synch-point.com).

I'd like to note that there are still plenty of FLCL DVDs with the booklets in circulation. The DVDs that have the booklet inside will have a black circle sticker on the plastic wrap with the text "bonus features." The DVD case is clear, so you will also be able to see the booklet inside.

We will also exchange the 2-page insert sheets with the actual booklet at conventions while supplies last. Please check our event schedule to see a list of conventions Synch-Point will be attending. At this time, we are scheduled to attend: Anime Expo 2004, Otakon 2004, San Diego Comic-Con 2004.

Anime Gamers will keep FLCL DVDs with booklets in stock, and they will also be available at the Anime Gamers booths at conventions. (the fine line: The DVDs with booklets will be available for a limited time while supplies last. Please ask for availability before buying. Thanks!)
